Electrical Engineer at SolarCity, Los Angeles

The Professional Electrical Engineer position will consist mostly of assuming the role of engineer of record (EOR) for the majority of Solarcity’s photovoltaic (PV) installations located in Southern California. This will involve reviewing job-specific commercial photovoltaic system design documents created by the commercial engineering department at Solarcity headquarters, checking for compliance with applicable UL and electrical code requirements, consulting on value engineering opportunities, and finally stamping permit submittal drawings with current professional seal. The majority of this review work will consist of PV systems in the general range of 10 kW to 1 MW and will need to comply with the current adopted California Electric Code (CEC). Occasionally this position will require travel to job sites In Southern California for the purposes of reviewing and/or confirming existing conditions, determining feasibility of interconnection, or attending inspections required by Inspector of Record (IOR) for applicable Division of State Architect (DSA) jobs.
